Introduction

faviontrexa respects your privacy and takes protecting your personal information seriously. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your data when you use our digital budgeting platform. We've written this in plain English because we believe transparency shouldn't require a law degree to understand.

Operating within Australia, we comply with the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). If something in this policy doesn't make sense, reach out. We're happy to clarify.

Information We Collect

The data we gather falls into a few categories. Some you provide directly when signing up or using our services. Other information gets collected automatically as you interact with our platform.

Personal Information You Provide

  • Account Details: Name, email address, phone number, and password when you create an account
  • Financial Information: Bank account details, transaction history, income sources, and expense categories you choose to link or manually enter
  • Profile Data: Budget preferences, financial goals, category customizations, and notification settings
  • Communication Records: Messages you send to our support team, feedback submissions, and survey responses
  • Payment Information: Billing details for subscription payments, though credit card numbers are processed through our payment provider and never stored on our servers

Automatically Collected Data

  • Device Information: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, and screen resolution
  • Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, time spent on platform, click patterns, and interaction history
  • Location Data: General location based on IP address (city and state level, not precise GPS coordinates)
  • Cookies and Similar Tech: Small files stored on your device to remember preferences and improve functionality

How We Use Your Information

We collect data for specific reasons, not just because we can. Here's what we actually do with it.

Purpose Data Used
Provide budgeting services Financial data, account details, transaction history
Personalize your experience Usage patterns, preferences, goal settings
Process payments Billing information, subscription status
Improve platform features Usage data, feature interactions, feedback
Customer support Communication records, account details
Security and fraud prevention Device info, login patterns, IP addresses
Send service updates Email address, notification preferences

We don't sell your personal information to third parties. That's not our business model, and frankly, it shouldn't be anyone's.

Sharing Your Information

Sometimes we need to share data with specific partners to make our service work. But we're selective about who gets access and why.

Service Providers

We work with third-party companies that help run our platform. These include cloud hosting providers, payment processors, email services, and analytics tools. They only get the minimum data needed to perform their specific function, and they're contractually required to protect your information.

Financial Institutions

When you connect your bank account, we use secure banking APIs to retrieve transaction data. Your bank login credentials are encrypted and never stored on our servers. We rely on certified financial data aggregators that meet strict security standards.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required by Australian law, court order, or government request. We'll notify you about such requests unless legally prohibited from doing so.

Important: We don't share your data with marketing companies, data brokers, or advertisers. Your financial information stays within the ecosystem needed to provide budgeting services.

Data Security

Security isn't just a checkbox for us. We use multiple layers of protection to keep your financial data safe.

  • Encryption: All data transmitted between your device and our servers uses TLS 1.3 encryption. Stored data is encrypted using AES-256 standards
  • Access Controls: Our staff can only access user data when necessary for support or technical issues, and all access is logged
  • Regular Audits: We conduct security assessments quarterly and work with third-party firms to identify vulnerabilities
  • Secure Infrastructure: Our servers are hosted in Australian data centers with physical security measures and redundant backups
  • Multi-Factor Authentication: Available for all accounts and required for staff access to systems

Despite these measures, no system is completely secure. If we detect a data breach that affects your information, we'll notify you within 72 hours as required under Australian law.

Your Privacy Rights

Under Australian privacy law, you have specific rights regarding your personal information. Here's what you can do and how to do it.

Access Your Data

You can request a copy of all personal information we hold about you. We'll provide this in a readable format within 30 days. There's no charge for one request per year, though we may charge a reasonable fee for additional requests.

Correct Inaccurate Information

If data we hold is wrong or outdated, you can update most information directly in your account settings. For data you can't change yourself, email us at help@faviontrexa.com and we'll make corrections within 10 business days.

Delete Your Account

You can request account deletion at any time. We'll remove your personal information within 30 days, though we may retain some data for legal compliance purposes. Financial transaction records, for example, must be kept for seven years under Australian tax law.

Restrict Processing

You can limit how we use your data by adjusting settings in your account. This includes turning off personalized recommendations, analytics tracking, and marketing communications.

Data Portability

Request your data in a machine-readable format (CSV or JSON) if you want to move to another budgeting service. We'll provide this within 30 days of your request.

Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to make our platform work properly and understand how people use it. You have control over most of these.

Essential Cookies

These are required for basic platform functionality like keeping you logged in and remembering your preferences. You can't disable these without breaking core features.

Analytics Cookies

We use these to understand which features get used most, where people struggle, and how to improve the platform. This data is anonymized and aggregated. You can opt out in your account settings.

Managing Cookies

Your browser settings let you block or delete cookies, though this might affect platform functionality. Most browsers also offer "Do Not Track" settings, which we respect.

Data Retention

We don't keep your data forever. Here's how long different types of information stick around.

  • Active Account Data: Retained while your account remains active and for 12 months after closure
  • Financial Records: Transaction history kept for seven years to comply with Australian tax regulations
  • Support Communications: Stored for three years for quality assurance and training purposes
  • Usage Logs: Kept for 18 months for security monitoring and platform improvements
  • Backup Data: Included in system backups for 90 days before permanent deletion

After these periods, data is permanently deleted from our systems and backups. Some aggregated, anonymized statistics may be retained indefinitely for research purposes.

Children's Privacy

Our service isn't designed for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we discover we've accidentally gathered data from someone under 18, we'll delete it immediately.

Parents who believe their child has provided us with personal information should contact us at help@faviontrexa.com.

Changes to This Policy

We update this policy occasionally to reflect new features, legal requirements, or privacy practices. When we make significant changes, we'll email you at least 30 days before they take effect.

The "Last Updated" date at the top shows when the current version went live. Continuing to use faviontrexa after changes become effective means you accept the updated policy.

Third-Party Links

Our platform might contain links to external websites or services. We're not responsible for their privacy practices. Before sharing personal information with any third party, read their privacy policy.
